There are numerous sales people in the world. In fact, sales is the highest populated position across the planet. The main factor for this is because it is one of the highest paying careers throughout the world. Of course, not every sales person is successful and only five percent of those who are make the kind of money most people only dream about.

Among these top selling sales professionals are three characteristics to which each adheres. Many other sales representatives know of these three traits, but simply do not apply them. Then there are those who do not know what the three shared qualities are.

What are the three traits of successful sales people? Quite simply they are:
  • 1. Know your product.
  • 2. Believe in your product.
  • 3. Understand the secret of your product.
Sounds simple enough doesn't it? The truth is, it is simple. Most do not comprehend what it means, though, to know, believe in and understand the secret of their product.

The first key of successful sales is to know your product. I mean to truly know and understand exactly what it is that you are selling. You should know every aspect of your product so that no matter what question a prospect may propose you have an answer--an honest answer-- available for them. Do not limit yourself to just knowing the cost of the product or memorizing the sales letter/pitch. Speak to the manufacturer of the product, if you can, and obtain as much documentation or material that they have available. When you truly know what it is that you are selling you are going to build confidence within yourself and gain the coveted confidence and trust of the prospect.

Confidence has a snowball effect. Once it starts to build inside of you it only becomes stronger and larger. When you start presenting your product with undeniable confidence you will notice that your sales begin to increase. In order to build that confidence you must know your product inside and out. So, get to know exactly what you are selling.

The second key is to believe in your product. If you truly believe in your product--you believe in what it does, you believe in what it can do for others--then you are going to sell with much more enthusiasm. People can tell when a sales person does not have a true belief in their product. They have a certain transparency about them. One example I give of believing in a product is a personal one.

Some Internet Marketers can get clueless when it comes to unleashing the full potential of paid eZine advertising. One of the most common dilemmas is that whether should the Internet Marketer advertise the product or service he is selling directly to the subscribers of the eZine he is paying advertising for?

Using Free Reports to Build Your List

Aside from pre-selling your products and affiliated offers, the other purpose of your free viral report should be to build your mailing list.

This is because if you are unable to pre-sell, let alone sell, the products and services featured in your free report, the last ditch effort should be to collect leads. In short, if you cannot convert the reader into a ready buyer, you should then attempt to convert him or her into your subscriber.

In that manner, you can still follow up with your reader on future offers and have a chance at converting him or her into your customer, preferably lifetime.

Refrain from Buying Bulk Mails

I am sure that you have definitely come across advertisements that read: “1,000,000 email addresses for $29.99”. And these bulk mail companies can even offer you these names in a CD at your doorstep.

Sure, having 1,000,000 subscribers is the best thing that could ever happen to any Internet Marketer and often sounds too good to be true. But very often, it always sound too good to be true.

What many beginning marketers do not really know is that these bulk companies harvest the email addresses using robots and other wares on the Internet. That is how the 1,000,000 email addresses come about, whatever the amount is.

Now, the really awful part is that if you purchase the so-called 1,000,000 names even at a low price, not only is it a waste of money, you are risking being accused of spamming. It is no longer a surprise how you often receive spam mails on Viagra, OEM Software and things you do not even need in your inbox.

That is so possible, because of the 1,000,000 names, no one knows you or even ask to be subscribed to your mailing list.

Ezine Advertising - The Fastest Way to Affiliate Profits

If you're on a tight budget or want to get started quickly without a website or a list of your own, then ezine advertising should be your number one choice.

Ezine advertising is the perfect solution for beginners who want to test a market and get into profit fast. Here's why:
  • It's highly targeted. People subscribe to ezines to receive information about specific topics. You just need to find ezines that cover topics related to the product your are promoting.

  • It's cost effective. You can find ezines that sell ads for as little as $8 - perfect for testing a new product idea.

  • It's a cheap way to test your ad copy. You can track several ads at the same time for next to nothing and find out which ad pulls the best.
What Is An Ezine?

An ezine is similar to a printed magazine except that it's delivered electronically via email. And instead of purchasing an ezine, people sign to receive it for free or a monthly subscription fee. Most ezines are published weekly, but some are published daily, monthly or bi-monthly.

Types of Ezine Ads

Classified Ads: the cheapest and the least effective ads you can buy. Classified ads are limited to two or three lines and placed at the end of the ezine. Some ezines even give away free classifieds as an incentive to subscribe. Unless you place a classified ad in an ezine with 30,000 subscribers or more, your chances of getting a response are very small.

Sponsor Ads: these are more expensive than classified ads, but will give you a much better response. Sponsor ads can be placed at the top, middle or bottom of an ezine issue. You can include more text in a sponsor ad so it's a good way to test your copy before going all out on a solo ad.

Solo Ads: this is the king of all ads because your offer is sent exclusively to everyone on the mailing list and gets full attention of the subscribers. No articles or other content is included. Solo ads can be expensive, but they can increase your response by as much a 100% over sponsor ads. You can usually expect a 20% - 30% response rate from a good solo ad.

In other words, if you purchase a solo ad for $100 in an ezine with 5,000 subscribers, you should expect about 1,000 highly targeted visitors.

Note: Solo ads can be purchased for as little as $10. You will get a much better response from a $10 solo ad sent to 500 subscribers than you will from a $10 classified ad sent to 5,000.

Here's your step-by-step guide to successful ezine advertising.

Step One: Subscribe to 10 or more ezines.

Subscribe to ezines that offer top sponsor and solo ads within your budget. Subscribing to ezines before you place your ads will allow you to determine the quality of the list and potential profitability of your campaign before you spend any money. You may want to set up a specific email address for your subscriptions and filter them into a specific folder in your mail program for easy access.

You can search Google for "ezine directories" and "ezine advertising to find quality ezines.

Step Two: Select three quality ezines.

Here are some guidelines for choosing a quality ezine:

1. Does the ezine have a domain name and website where you can subscribe and purchase advertising? This shows that the publisher runs a serious business and is not likely to take your money and run.

2. Is there an article archive? This shows you how long the publisher has been in business and how consistent the publication is.

3. Are subscriptions confirmed opt-in? After you subscribe, you will receive an email to confirm your subscription. This is a sign of a high-quality list. However, this should not be the only determining factor.

4. How often does the ezine owner publish? A weekly or bi-weekly publication is optimal. If you receive daily ads, that's a good sign that people may be desensitized to your message.

5. Does the publisher offer solo ads? A solo ad is one that is sent to the entire list all by itself and usually the most profitable type of advertising.

6. Do the solo ads display the advertiser's subject line? If the subject line is not personalized, results will not be as good.

7. Does the body of the message contain a lengthy disclaimer from the ezine owner that explains their SPAM policy and that they aren't associated with the advertiser and aren't responsible for the content? This is a red flag to me because it makes the reader less receptive to your ad.

8. Do you see the same advertisements multiple times? This is a good sign that the advertiser is getting a good response. One way to be sure is to contact the advertiser and simply ask.

9. Is there waiting period to run your ad in the ezine? A responsive list becomes popular fast and may have a waiting period of a month or more. If you find one, book your ads quickly and mark it on your calendar. It will be worth the wait when your ad finally runs.

10. Does the publisher respond personally to your questions? No response could mean that your mail was filtered. And if you mail doesn't get through, you can bet your ad won't either. Get a solid response before you pay.

Step Three: set up your ad trackers.

Never advertise unless you can track the response. You need to know how many visitors and sales you get for each ad you place so you can determine whether or not you want to run another ad in a particular ezine or upgrade from a sponsor ad to a solo ad.

This information is critical for determining how well each ad campaign does and how well you're converting visitors into sales. Sometimes you just need to tweak your ad copy and run the ad again for better results.

If you get good results the first time, run your ad again in a week or two. Not everyone will buy the first time around. And many who were "on the fence" the first time they saw your ad, may purchase the second time around.

You can find a good ad-tracking service on Google.

Step Four: write your ad.

There are numerous books on writing good copy that you can find by searching Google. But, the best way to come with ideas for good ads is to read the ads in other ezines.

Look for ads that catch your eye. Modify them to fit the product you are promoting and then add your own personal touch. You can include an exerpt from an ebook you are selling, a section from the sales letter, or your personal endorsement.

Step Five: place your ad.

This is the easiest part. You simply fill out a form with your ad copy and credit card information. After you process the order. You will receive a confirmation of when the ad will run. And since you are already subscribed to the ezine, you can verify it yourself. Don't rely on them to send you a "courtesy copy."

Step Six: put half your profits back into advertising.

Okay, sounds simple enough. But where do you put the extra profit?

That's why you track your ads. So you can make an informed decision and maximize your profits.

So if you were going to put half your profits back into advertising, where would you put it?

Let's say you're total profit was $400. Take two hundred and invest it back into the successful ezines and invest the other two hundred into two new ezines. And then multiply your profits from there.

The profit potential of this method is incredible. Once you tap into the strategy and see it working you'll see exactly what I mean. And until you do, you'll have a hard time understanding why I get so fired up about it.

Note: it can take up to two weeks (or longer) to get into some ezines. So it's important to get your spot as soon as possible.

Once you set this system up and find some good ezines to advertise in, you'll be making money completely on autopilot!

The truth is that 99% of all affiliates make less than $100 a month, while the other 1% earn staggering incomes from affiliate marketing.

The difference lies in the way these two groups perceive affiliate marketing as a business model. Those who make good money view it as a real business, while others see it as a "get-rich-quick" scheme and consequently, never make any money.

Much of your success will depend on your attitude and your ability to stay focused and not give in to fears of failure. Failure can not be an option. You have to visualize and expect success. Otherwise, it may never materialize.

If you can answer "Yes" to the following questions, then you have what it takes to be a successful affiliate marketer:

  • Do you have the patience and persistence required to build an affiliate business?

  • Can you accept the fact that you will make mistakes and may even lose money at first?

  • Do you understand that it takes time to build a real business and you will not get rich overnight?

  • Are you willing to invest time into your continuing education?

  • Are you willing to invest time and money into advertising and tools to build your affiliate business?

You can make an absolute killing in affiliate marketing, but it will take some work. And if you're just starting out, you have a lot to learn. But as your knowledge and skills increase, so will your income.

You will almost certainly make mistakes along the way, but you can't give up. Just learn from your mistakes and move on.

Right now, you have two choices:

1. You can take the plunge and start building a real business online... Or

2. You can keep looking for that "magic bullet" that will make you rich overnight without you lifting a finger.

Unless you win the lottery, there is no legal business model that will make rich overnight. If you find one, let me know...

Many people join affiliate programs in hopes of making a living working from home, only to see little results.

What are the reasons for the lack of results that these affiliates experience. In my years of marketing affiliate programs online, I have found that you have to follow a few basic, yet necessary rules.

Once you follow these rules, your affiliate income will increase as your down line will as well.

The first affiliate rule
Never "over hype" your affiliate opportunity to your prospects. I have seen this a million times and can honestly say that many affiliate marketers will tell people that all they have to do is join and they will become rich!

I hate to be the one that tells you this, but any home business or affiliate program that you promote online will take time and effort on your part in order to profit from.

There is no such thing as a "Get Rich Quick" affiliate program or opportunity. If there really was, don`t you think that that everyone would already be doing it and keep hush, hush!

When they don`t see these "over night riches". Your customers will thank you for your honesty!

The second affiliate rule
Always make yourself available to your affiliates in your down line, when they have questions or concerns. this drives me "crazy" when you join an affiliate program and can`t ever get a hold of your sponsor again, when you have a question.

Being available for your downline is essential to your success. It`s incredible to me, just how many affiliates don`t get this concept! A happy and informed affiliate down line will become a strong down line and you will make more money! It`s how the affiliate programs are set up to work an vitally important for you to profit as an affiliate.

The third affiliate rule
Set up an auto responder. It is a proven fact that although it is great to have an affiliate website. 99% of the people that visit your site are there just browsing. Every visitor that comes to your site and leaves is a sale lost for you.

How does a "Super Affiliate" conquer this problem? By setting up an ezine and placing a simple "pop-up" box or sign up form on their sites to capture these future customers email information.

Any experienced affiliate marketer knows, that it will take at least 7 to 10 follow up`s with a prospective customer to make the sale. This is what an ezine and auto responder accomplish for you.

For every subscribers name you capture, the saying goes that " each subscriber is worth $1 a month to you". Now that may not seem like alot to you, but, when your subscriber count get`s to around 10,000 subscribers (I will let you do the math). You will be making some serious affiliate income on a monthly basis.

One final affiliate rule
As important as your subscribers are to you, you will have to nurture them, until they trust you! Trust is very important. If you send them important relevant information on a weekly basis, they will view you as an expert and you will gain their trust.

This trust is what will help you make affiliate sales with ease. Abuse your list by "spamming the hell out of them" and you will never make a dime!
